TUITION

Freddie Edwards Guitarist

I’ve been teaching guitar for the last 15 years and am incredibly passionate about sharing the knowledge I’ve picked up from years of touring the world as a guitarist for Status Quo and my band, Flawes. I also studied guitar at the prestigious Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford - a school famous for producing musicians that go on to succeed in the industry.

I welcome all ages and abilities and typically teach from the RSL Rock School syllabus alongside personalized lessons catered to the individual. I specialize in pop, rock, country, and blues music and aim to make learning fun and exciting. My students also have a great track record of distinctions when being graded!

I primarily teach online but can offer in-person lessons to those living in Chichester, West Sussex.

What my pupils say:

  • "Freddie is a remarkable teacher. I started playing the guitar at age 56 and he has really understood the music I like and has designed his lessons to be engaging and fun. I have learned a huge amount in a short time from a talented, experienced and inspiring teacher. I really look forward to our lessons!"

  • "Freddie is a brilliant guitarist and music lover and I can’t recommend him highly enough as a teacher. My daughter has been learning guitar for three years and Freddie is endlessly patient and kind to her, even though she often seems to think she doesn’t need to practice... He is effective too; by carefully choosing and arranging pieces she likes, then using lots of repetition to get the hang of them she steadily is getting better. We have had lots of music teachers over the years but Freddie really is the best."

  • I kept changing teachers until I found Freddie! He has a very patient teaching style but always pushes me when I need it. Would definitely recommend him!

  • Yes! I’m based in Chichester, West Sussex but also do a lot of teaching online.

  • I’m afraid I rarely travel to teach. I find that teaching from my music room is the best option for both myself and the pupil! If you happen to live close by and can’t travel then let me know. I make exceptions occasionally!

  • Yes! I typically teach from the RSL Rock School syllabus and am more than happy to coach pupils through the grading process (my students have a great track record!). I find that the stress of exams can sometimes takes away from the enjoyment so there is absolutely no pressure to sit the grades if they don’t appeal to you.
